Check out the following script provided by Ian Townsend. It is a very useful Maya Mel Export to After Effects Script and is now on sale on turbosquid. How much do you think the cost is for this useful tool? Any Guesses? It is an unbelieveable cost of just $2.
It Creates transform nulls for all objects in the Maya scene. Bakes timewarp animation into the nulls so they can be exported to After Effects. Exports all the renderable cameras and transform nulls to the data directory for After effects. Also creates a playblast to go along with it.
